Lesson Plans? What is a Lesson Plan?

To start, a weekly lesson plan is a teachers way of putting everything down on one single sheet of paper that she or he has to do for the week. Cheat sheet. In preschool or Pre-K you pick themes for each week. Yes!!!!!!!! Themes again. God I love themes. When I first started out in the local school district and taught lesson plans, they were practically already made for me. The program that i worked for already had a bought and paid program that provided 4 binders full of themes for each quarter of the year. So essentially the seasons. FALL, Winter, Spring, and Summer. It was our job to put it on paper for the parents to see each week.

There are a lot of different formats for lesson plans. Its up to you which you feel comfortable using. The one up top is one that i was using before I bought my Happy Planner (which is in another post) and there are lots of others.

This is Lesson Planets. Its free and its pretty much the same as the other I found. Just look up Preschool lesson plans printable for free, and see what comes up. You can even go on Publisher and make your own.

As my carrier in the school district grew, so did my lesson plan knowledge. I don’t like to toot my own horn, but i came up with awesome lesson plan ideas. If there is one thing any parent can do during this time, it’s come up with the themes your kid will relate to the most at the beginning of the year, to help get theme in the mood to learn.

However if you think you can’t do it all on your own, there are a bunch of websites that have done it for you. Most of them are free, and some are just cheap. So the program I am using this year is the wonderful website called PreKPrintableFun.com. She provides a whole years worth of ideas, and the inner pieces for free, but if you want her printable or kits to print you have to pay for those. Course they are very inexpensive. Totally worth it.

I am going to be using the them Camping a lot in my future posts as the best example for what can part of your lesson plans. Centers, Pretend Play, art, etc. So here is the lesson plan PreKPrintablefun is using for Camping. This type of lesson plan is called a bubble lesson plan.

There are others just like that if you don’t like this website I am using. They are all pretty much the same. ETSY for teachers and stay at home teachers. Preschool4all, and Teachers pay teachers. Great resources.

So its up to you, and which works for your kiddos the best.

There are other programs that can help you along your daily routine. Online websites and tablet programs and games. Now I am not saying use these to educate your child 24/7. This will be an extra add on. They are great to make the day exciting. Some are free and some costs money, but totally worth the cost.

For Free tablet games that help with learning are; Eggroll Pre-K or Kinder, Starfall, Duck Duck Moose Games, Magic Letters, and so on.

For a good price monthly you get a progressive program that works your Childs speed and levels; Starfall (their full program), Learning without Tears, and the most famous of all ABC Mouse. Our plan in the house is to get ABC Mouse for our kids.

Now as for Grade Level Academics. Staying at home this year is probably the safest move you can do for your kids. Now I say this, your local public school district should have some sort of Online Academy and its free. That is your best bet. Enrolling your kids into the public school districts online academy’s will supply teachers with jobs and the school with funding to give families who don’t have a way to be a apart of online programs, a free Barrowed Laptop.

So please, help our local schools stay in business.

As for me, I am sticking with the free stuff, and I know I can put on a pretty good schedule and lesson plan. I hope this helps you feel confident in this endeavor with me.

Good Luck!
