We have been in the era of the digital screen. When I was a kid watching tv was a privilege. I played outside or inside with my sister or friends. I didn’t have my own cell phone until high school and that was a flip phone. You know what I am referring to.

So now this generation of kiddos, they have access to internet everywhere. Tablets, TVs are hooked up to internet, Netflix, Hulu, prime , etc.
So when we go to the pediatrician these days they tell us to limit screen time each day. Hahahahahaha. Ain’t happening like that anymore.
We need the screen to help us through this tough time. I can say it. Loud and proud . The screen is going to save me. My kiddos have the same learning style that I had when I was a kid, and even now. I learn better from a visual point. So if I don’t see it, I’m not learning. My kids are the same way. I have excepted that.
So there are lots of things on the screen that can help with their education, if you don’t feel comfortable teaching.
YouTube or even Kidtube can help with that. Just search anything of the following and it will be okay. You might have to skip some commercials, but nothing to bad.
1. Super Simple Songs: as I stated in the last blog, Alexa has this play list and so does YouTube. It’s cartoon based and it plays nursery rhymes and fun songs that kids learn these days. ( like their own version of BABY SHARK)
2. Pinkfong: we all know their wonderful, yet annoying popular song BABY SHARK. However they have other songs too. They have lots of playlists that have great preschool songs.
3. BLIPPI: once again the most amazing fun videos you could ask for, especially for boys. This guy turned his YouTube channel into an empire. I’ll take him over Ryan any day. It’s a persona that is a person, a big kid, going around the country to different places to show and teaching kids things. My son had a speech delay until he started watching blippi. Now he speech is 10 times better . Thank you Blippi by the way.
4. Search the theme of the week: you will get lots of fun and educational videos and songs on the subject and it will give you a break to prepare for the next part of your day. Intermission if you will.
5. Story time: I’d the lesson plan you choose calls for a certain book, and you don’t have it or can’t get it, just search it on YouTube and it will there. Read by the author themselves or by another. It’s wonderful. Even certain books are turned into songs ( pout pout fish) or even a cartoon ( rainbow fish) . It’s crazy.
6. Cosmic Kids Yoga: this English woman had a yoga time for almost every theme. it’s perfect for gross motor time or even a break. Just roll out some dollar section yoga mats and let them have fun. Or even do it with them .
Hope you are having fun with my blog. Hope it helps.
Good luck!!!!!!!
