Stipend or Stimulus Checks for Stay at Home Parents who are taking on their children’s Education!!!

This is a big thing, and I want my readers to think about this.

For years stay at home moms have been homeschooling their children ( by choice) because they trust themselves to teach their kid(s) with no training at all. My mother in law being one of them. So brave that she did it for three kids all their lives.

It can get costly to pay for a program and teach it at home, but that’s what you pay for. Standardized lesson plans and step by step instructions on how to teach them.

However for the parents who are deciding this is the new norm and NOT by choice, they still have to pay for programs, or decals, or even printables. So where does that leave us. We are becoming teachers when we didn’t want to, and have no funding towards it.

Personally I think stay at home parents who have been teaching from home should have been paid for it anyways, now we SHOULD GET SOMETHING. We are loosing our income and now have to pay for programs and supplies that come out of pocket. For family’s that can’t afford it, it can be damaging to a family’s savings and their livelihood.

So I think if the government isnt going to keep the stimulus checks coming for families that make less than 75,000 a year. ( by the way, they need to send out the next check the same as before due to the fact that everyone who made 75,000 last year, doesn’t mean they are making it this year. And families like mine, we have gone through that first one to pay for bills and we need another to help pay for bills now) Than they need to at least think about parents who are homeschooling at home to apply for a government funded stay at home program, monthly stipend or where the parent gets a monthly paycheck like any other part time worker. At the very least , minimum wage.

For all our teachers who are going into the front lines and teaching from inside the classroom ( honestly I think schools should be closed and all classes are digital until they find a dang cure or vaccine) should get a pay raise. Those who are teaching from home should also get a little stipend as well for working from home.

We didn’t ask for this but we are being brave to keep our children and our families safe until this thing has disappeared from our lives.
