Teachers War! Political battle over should kids/ teacher go back to school in the building or not.

Here’s another subject that’s really close to my heart right now.

The questions!!!!

Should kids go back to school in person, or keep the year digital?

Should teachers even want to go to go back and risk their lives an the lives of their students?

Should parents step up and do home school programs for their kids, and let the schools be safe until further notice?

So many questions and so little time to decide. The government is saying schools have to reopen in order to get the funding. They also tell the districts that’s it’s up to them how they proceed to start the year. Digital first week and then resume the next by the second week of August.

My personal favorite is the ones that aren’t starting until October. Now here is the rub. Why are they forced to open at all?

This is a whole new ballgame for our schools. We already have doctors and nurses on what is now called the front lines. It’s a battlefield out their. Now we are asking our kids and teachers to do the same front lines.

My personal opinion? If it matters at all. You’ve read my other posts, I think parents should home school or kids do digital academy. The schools should not open. I am not risking my kids lives or my families to send them there to get it and pass it on. So no. I am choosing to homeschool my preschooler and my prekindergarten this year and if it doesn’t go away, I will homeschool my kinder girl. I won’t send her into that.

Kindergarten and all other grades should be a fun environment for them and their friends. Wearing masks all day long and keeping them apart from each-other is a pipe dream. They are going to be miserable.

I know parents are tired of the kids being home and they need to socialize but that at the expense of their lives.

Now somehow day cares are getting it done. I’ll give them that. They are keeping it clean. And their kids safe. Course most day cares are on a small scale and they have smaller rooms for smaller numbers. But will it work for a public school. Larger rooms with more bodies. Agree to disagree.

I’m not going to do that to my kids and I wish some of my friends felt the same. Course I have friends who have kids who are grade level and they have IEPs. Once again it’s for kids for special circumstances that need extra help in the room. Course that means if they send their kids back to school , how will that look. Transit to another room with another chance of exposer. I don’t know. It’s a dream like fantasy land to me.

Course there are teacher who want to go back and want to teach. I, in my teacher heart feel for them. I miss my students and want to see them, want to teach them, but once again, should we let them.

I don’t know how other states or countries are getting it done and getting it done safe, but help me please. This is going to tip the curve in either direction. If can either be a good thing, or it might make it worse.
