So we got the keys to our 1 Month Temp Home and it’s pretty small. I knew it was going to be smaller but I didn’t know how small. So the living room area which is where I plan to teach my kids for a month is very different than the space I’m use to or will be back to in about a month or so. Hoping it is one month exactly.
I have been packing up our apt for about a week now and I have doing a pretty kick butt job at it. Didn’t realize how much crap we have until now.
Usually I’m pretty good about clutter and downsizing, but wow. I have got to downsize more often. And we will once we get back into our apt.
So the furniture that we will be keeping ( for now, in order to have stuff, even though 90% of everything in our bedroom and living room was water damaged) will be the couch, my desk, my kids table + chairs, and their pretend play toy stand, and finally the new cube shelf under the tv. That is until we get reimbursed.
Unfortunately the stuff that we won’t be taking but dumping is our dining table and chairs, my dresser, my hubbies dresser, his desk, and finally our queen bed and mattress. Talk about an empty room. Only an air mattress and a bunch of boxes I’ll occupy that space for a while.
So where to begin with the plan.
The picture to the left shows the left side of the room. My desk will go up against that wall, and you can see the couch will be to the right.
The right picture shows where the couch will actually be with the coffee table and the kids pretend play area will be.
I wish I got a better picture of the wall behind the couch. The kids table and chairs will go into the dinning room while I work with them on their homeschooling and that wall …….

……..to the left of the shelf will be where , if I decide to, will be where I hang their chalk board. Technically it’s the perfect wall for my Command Center. I’ll do a blog about the perfect family command center tomorrow.
Anyways, this area will hold the kids desk and chairs, and the shelves will hold their art supplies.
So wish me luck and I cannot wait to show you the final product.
