Maybe it’s the fact that I always thought that our next big move would be into a house. I have this vision of the perfect house too.
Ironically our apt is being remodeled into a dorm that’s exactly what I would want for my house. Grey Wood Laminate floors, grey countertops, stainless steel appliances, and modern fixtures.
The house I see us in one day is a 4 bedroom 3 bath house. One level. Probably dreaming too big but whatever. It’s a dream I can wait for.
We have been trying so hard to get into a house these past three years. To no avail.
My husband served his country twice, and the VA Loan is our only hope. Course VA loans are not amazing as they should be in my opinion.
They should be guaranteed and because he served twice he should get a down payment incentive or something. not just college money.
Yeah that’s the kicker. You get a loan and you get a low percentage rate, and you are required to have a down payment. But unless you put one down, the monthly mortgage isn’t pretty.
So we have lived in our wonderful apt for these past 5 years because it is our home. It’s perfect for us right now. We wish we had more space, but it’s okay. I work with what I got. And the kids are happy with our apt. They miss it right now actually.
My three year old has been asking all week to go home. He hates not understanding we can’t. To see the tears in his eyes.
So I just have to distract him in our temp apt until we get back and be at home again. Just a month. Not big deal right?
