In the middle of my Theft Depression I am going to post the next three stories. To take my mind off of it.
I am an AZ native. Born and raised here in Phoenix. You would think living in this beautiful state, that meant I have been to so many of its beautiful places. NOOOOOOOPE!
I literally never went anywhere other than going on vacation elsewhere. Like California or Hawaii. Lol. Not a rough childhood, but still my point is I am still an AZ VIRGIN. Lol
When I met my hubby he opened my eyes to so much of it beauty. Took me hiking to the natural bridge and also to the Grand Canyon. Completely wild I know.
This past summer during covid, my amazing in laws brought more into our lives, by taking us to our family favorite place to go right now in the summer. Soon we will get our own kayaks and paddle boards to do it on our own someday. For now, I love doing it with them and the kids. It’s like a beach in AZ. Canyon Lake.
Canyon Lake is only an hour drive, and it’s a pretty drive at that. I still need to take Dramamine when we go, and I highly recommend it if you get car sick, but once you get there and in the water it’s amazing.
Take the 60 East and get off Idaho drive and take it north. Once you get to the Apache Trail go East. And it takes you all the way to the lake. You will need a Tonto Daily Pass. You can get it at any grocery story. Frys, and Safeway are our go to’s.

It’s 8 dollars per day pass. Totally worth it if you only go a couple of times , but if you go more , you’ll need a different pass. It’s a Discovery pass and it’s for the year. 80.00

It’s only sold at the actual Tonto Offices. But it would be worth it to go boating, rafting, etc for the year on your own.
Canyon lake is large and plenty of parking. The area we park is a FAMILY SECRET, lol sorry but we love it. Has a little beach , and not too deep for the kids. Can’t wait to go back before it gets too cold to go. Highly recommend. .
Have fun!!!!!
