Backgrounds! The decoration and backdrop are the entire look of your learning area.

Whenever you have a giant wall in your office your play room, your extra space that you have for your children’s learning area think of it as a blank canvas. You’re the artist and you need to decorate it in order to make it pretty and friendly and perfect for their learning experiences.

When you’re a teacher and you work for the local school district the easiest answer is butcher paper. Which the school district gets in bulk in many different colors and patterns, and they use at your disposal. Which is a lot at the beginning of the year. So they get up to three of these. Lol.

However after three months the color fades, and it doesn’t look as bright as it was did when you first put it up, and it starts to deteriorate.

So Teaching Created Recourses, the company that I’ve been using for my other beautiful bulletin board items such as lettering decorations etc. They came up with a different alternative than butcher paper for the walls. They call it “ Better Than Paper”.

The usual places to find this supply are the teaching supply places. Such as; hobby lobby, Amazon, and even Michael’s will sell this product as well. You need only go looking.

The product is part nylon and part plastic. So it lasts longer, it’s tougher, and when you yank it from the wall you can reuse it a number of times. I however tossed the ones that I had at the temporary apartment because that was the supply that I had from the flood. So I didn’t want to use waterlogged product I want a new product so I went and bought two new rules.

I got purple for one wall and the polkadot for the other wall. Polka Dot is the only line of Teacher Creat Recourses has as a Better Than Paper product, that’s why I chose this line.

None of the others have one to match but you can get creative and use the solid colors but with the boarders to match. Such as use purple or blue and then use the scribble line on the outside. I however did the opposite. I used purple with the polka dot large boarder on the outside and then on my other wall used the scribble boarder on top of the polka dot wall.

Here’s a little sneak peek of what I’ve done recently that will be in part three of a new beginning part three of three. On the purple wall I found giant polkadot bordering that I used for that wall but also I will be purchasing what’s called an “ awning” piece that will go over the book shelf to make it more interesting.

I hope so anyways. We’ll see when I get it how it looks. I can tape lettering on top of it . It will say, our library.

There is always another option for backgrounds to make the room interesting and exciting and fun. Possibly also you can use these for the kids rooms which I have done in the our apartment already because I don’t want to paint their entire walls. So I bought background drops from Amazon at eight dollars apiece.

These are the same backdrops you recall from your High School Dance photos. Lol. I used them for their birthdays and then pinned them to their walls to use as decor. You can get any number of backgrounds on amazon, in any big or somewhat small size. The kids ones are 7×5. Big enough to be behind their beds, but not so big it takes up the whole wall.

So if your thinking of doing something for your kiddos to make it more fun for them to learn at, think of these things.

Good luck!!!!!11
