At the start of the week we were in the temp apt for the one day (Monday) because we were moving back into our original apartment the next day. So I didn’t have a whole Lotta stuff off my walls were completely empty but I still had the calendar up and the carpet down so the kids and I could start the week off right.
I had gone to the dollar tree and went into their Halloween decoration section and found the knights in shining armor pieces for the costume and I bought three of each color. So three sets of gold and three sets of silver shields, breast plates, helmets, and swords.
Totally worth the cost especially when you don’t wanna be always buying brand new costumes or supplies for your pretend play or even your learning section.

Something that was also very interesting as part of the whole medieval lesson plan was about castles and structure and buildings. Which was a whole Nother unit I had to print off but it basically helps the kids understand about building a secured structure like a castle.Something that was also very interesting as part of the whole medieval lesson plan was about castles and structure and buildings. As I said in my set up blog about centers for beginners regular building blocks is an sensual tool to preschool learning and even kindergarten to first grade.
So the learned the idea of making a structure needs a strong base.
Today on Thursday was our first official day back to classroom stuff and while we were at my mothers this morning the kids wanted to play the Kids version of Jenga. Which is also a great game to play during medieval week or if you’re learning about buildings and stuff like that, you can teach them they need to keep the bottom as a strong base to keep the rest of the Tower from falling.

Also one of the other Activities they want the kids to do and we’re going to do that tomorrow during Friday activities is take plastic ups and do stacking of them. Hang a picture of a cloud with a castle on it ( jack and the beanstalk) and see if they can get it that high.

Now I’m not going to read the story at all like it requires. It’s just a castle in the sky. And they have to make it to the top. I’m excited . Cup stacking is very popular still in school stem classes. So this will be a beginning activity.
Tomorrow, we are going to talking about dragons. The kids love Toothless, so they will be happy to be learning about them.
I found this theme to be very fun. I wish I was in my apt sooner. We could have done the castle pretend play, but the kids love the knight stuff just the same.
Next week is all about being healthy. Doctors office for the pretend play. I love doing that.
Have a great weekend. Happy Labor Day.
