It’s Done!!!!!! Yesssssss!
So we moved back in on Tuesday of Last week. Right? and it has taken me almost a week to finish unpacking and organizing everything. usually i am a bit faster, but this week was just crazy.
We unpacked as much as week could last weekend to survive. My husband said to take my time with the unpacking because we also chose to purge a lot of it.
So each day this week I made it my mission to get one room completed. So on Wednesday I got the kids room completed, Thursday I completed the storage area and laundry space, Thursday was part of the classroom, and Friday I completed half of our room.
Bit by bit, this weekend, I got a lot more done. Finally today, Monday, We are officially moved in. No boxes, and no bags to empty.
The only thing is we don’t have a dinning room or a master bed. YET. We use the kids school table to eat in just like we did at the temp apt. And we have our mattress in the floor. Crazy I know, but it’s good for now.
On Wednesday night Bill and I got away and went into the newest furniture store in the valley, BOBS. I had been scoping out their website for weeks, but I wanted to wait to see them in person before I purchased any.
As soon as we got in their, we were greeted by the nicest people. They helped up find the pieces I wanted to look at and even helped me change my mind on the bed. They didn’t have the one I wanted to see, but turned my attention to another kind of style to match my MODERN FARM HOUSE look. (Note: it was the same price as the one I originally wanted, so I wasn’t hustled.) we were pleased with the price and the outcome but they wont be delivered ( and not put together) not until later this month or next month. OH WELL. Covid is keeping everything behind. We understand. Its no IKEA, but it’s nicer stuff for a good price. I highly recommend them.
As you can see, from the pictures above, it took me quite a while to fix everything up. I even needed today to go into Lakeshore to go get my last minute stuff laminated. They are the only place in my area that has a good laminating machine for a good price per foot. Just saying. HINT HINT.
Went in there and found a few other things I needed. Pencils ( medium thick) and the awning for the book shelf.

The things I got laminated, were the rest of the items I made from SCRATCH for both my calendar and my weather area. So when you look at the picture, anything that has (WALT DISNEY lettering) is something I made. I downloaded the Disney lettering, and used it. There are other items, such as a weather bear from target, and some other items that came with our curriculum.

Let me explain why I did so much for my calendar area. The reason is Is I want my kids to understand the following words; THIS, LAST, NEXT, and YESTERDAY & TOMORROW. So I made things for LAST month, LAST year, THIS year & month, etc. Plus I found on the PREKPRINTABLEFUN website ( that I have bought curriculum for, the days of the week sign. Yesterday was, Today is, and Tomorrow will be. Those things are very important for a Childs early understanding of the past, present, and future.
Sorry for the curtains in this picture. Haven’t hung them up yet.
The word wall itself will be the only place I put their vocab words. Mainly because their isn’t any more room. So I will use the fancy pocket for that, and use the green pocket for something else. I was thinking of using it as a center choice chart down the line. To teach the kids that you need to pick a center with your name, and if you change centers, you have to clean up your area before you go onto the next place.
So that’s it, we are finally up and ready to go for tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.
