The Plan for NEXT WEEK! COMBINATION. APPLES AND FAMILY!!!!

This week I continued the Healthy Me lesson because its an important lesson and last week I didnt get the chance to use it much. I already stated before the lesson for this week was supposed to be about family. That I didnt think the kids would like it, and I would move onto the actual next lesson, which is APPLES.

For fall Apples is another popular subject, but I usually didn’t use it much when I was working in the Early Learning Program with my students. In the beginning of my career , I didnt know much about lesson planning except was given to us in these old 90’s Binders. They were separated by season. I was always told to do exactly what the lesson plan said. So as I got older and more experienced with the idea of lesson planning I got into the grove of it.

Remember in my Looking Back when I was a teacher blogs, I told you about the ITALY lesson plan and how the kids and I stomped on grapes to make juice. Course we didn’t drink it, but it was a lesson to get the idea of making WINE or GRAPE JUICE into their brains. IT WORKED.

With APPLES I plan on doing exactly what the girl is doing in the GIF i picked out. Well be doing a bunch of science experiments towards the idea of APPLES (yellow, green, and red) and how they taste different. Plus the juices they make and the apples sauces. Hopefully they will like the idea of it.

How I bring in Family (something simple) comes from the saying, “The APPLE doesn’t fall far from the TREE.” And a family TREE is very important. Well also study our families and how they are similar and different from others. Well make a giant family tree on paper, just like we did with the body parts art. I will help them do the writing, but its pretty much going to as far as their Great Grandparents on both sides. Using the apples theme.

As far as Art projects go, you can use a number of tools to help you with them. Mainly. APPLES.

Using the thing of the THEME towards your art projects can be a lot of fun. With Transportation theme you can paint with the cars and planes you have, wheel painting. With the theme of Food, you can paint with the food. One of my favorite things to add to my art table was always non paint brush items. Such as; forks, string, toothbrushes, homemade stamps, etc.

With Apples, the apple is the most easiest art project you can paint with.

Other Art project ideas for the week include;

If you remember as a kid, Marble painting should have been your favorite one. I know it was mine. Taking paint trays, throwing some marbles into the paint and having them just move the marbles around, was just the best time for me as a kid.

Finger Paints will work well with this project. Its comes off easier than actual water based paint. Cuz lets face it, RED DOESNT COME OFF OF ANYTHING. So be careful.

For the Dramatic Play you have one of two choices. You can have a PIE Stand, Like the lesson plan says to do ( and she provides the printable to print off for that) or you can get creative and think of something else. Yes Apple pie is another great thing to teach the kiddos how to make, and you can do that as a project with each other this week, but think of something else for the Dramatic Play/ PRETEND play area. Something to do with family, and Apples. Think about it, where do apples come from. TREES. How do we usually get them, fresh from the farm. LOL. Give up.

An apple orchard. Picking apples and selling them at a stand on the road. I think that is the cutest idea. It seems like a lot of work, but it shouldn’t be. All you have to do is create a paper tree somewhere in your house, in my case APT, and then stick Velcro pieces on the trees and stick the other half onto the apple ( plastic) and connect the two. In my case I have no room for a tree to pick from, so I will probably just have an apple stand. have lots of different color of apples. Fake food of course. It will come in handy when the kids need more food for their play kitchen.

For science; its easy, just learning about the apple, Seeds, planting and such. My kids love apples, so I am going to have lots of apples for them to eat next week, but also I want them to learn to cut them themselves. Well see how that goes.

The pintable’s for this lesson are pretty easy, so I will be combining them with the family ones. Just to keep with the idea of Family TREEs. Plus once again adding the understanding of who is who in the family. When I tell my daughter ( who is 5 remember) that her NANA is my MOMMY, she looks at me oddly and says, NO SHES MY NANA. LOL. So hopefully this will help her get the idea of who is who, in our family.

Mixing lesson plans will happen a lot with me, because I think it will go better, if the plans are more fun and more creative. Not that PreKPrintablefun isn’t creative. I just like mixing it up once in a while. I mean I taught for 15 years practically, I think I know how to lesson plan by now. So if I don’t like a lesson plan idea, I might change it up, like I am doing for next week.

Wish me Luck!!!!1
