Fall is such a fun time in a teachers world. You got the changing of the weather/ seasons, and you have lots of fall themes.
Now October is my favorite time of the year!!!
I know I Said that about shopping for school supplies, but that is as a teacher, as a person, Halloween is my favorite holiday.
More than Christmas ( especially right now cuz all our stuff was stolen) and more than my birthday. I know I am weird, but moving on.
October is all about magic for me. There pumpkins, festivals, Halloween, witches, dressing up, etc. Course I hate horror movies so that makes me an oxymoron. The scariest movie I can sit through is probably Scream 3. Lol. Pathetic I know.
My favorite Halloween films I love watching are kids films, but they are the best. 31 nights of Halloween is my perfect October thrill.

Course Disney has their Halloween perfection movies as well.
Halloween Town 1-4
Twitches 1-2
The Haunted Mansion with Eddie Murphy.
The Tower is Terror with Kirsten Dunst
And a couple of others.
My kids however can’t watch those yet, so this is their Halloween list
1. Curious George Halloween
2. Winnie the Pooh’s Hefelump Halloween Movie
3. Spooky the Square Pumpkin
4. Double Double Toil and Trouble with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.
5. It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
5. Mickeys House is Mouse Villians.
Etc.
Back to October. The Lesson Plan themes are the following.
October 5-9: fire safety.
October 12-16: pumpkins
October 19-23: scarecrows
October 26-30: Halloween.
Most people would stick to these but there are so many more themes you could do instead of these.
1. Football. 2. Spiders 3. Owls 4. Nocturnal animals 5. Spices ( cinnamon and pumpkin) 6. Birds of a prey. 6. Forest Animals.
There are lots more. So when you plan ahead you have to think about which themes you like best and then plan for those.
For me, If one idea or theme doesn’t have as many fun things as the others, then I replace it with something else’s.
Next week is Fire Safety, but it’s fall break. Here in Arizona anyways. So we are doing a break that week. so I plan on moving Fire safety in place of the Scarecrows Week. In my opinion, scarecrows and pumpkins can all be in the same week. So I plan in combining Pumpkins and Scarecrows and will call it FALL FESTIVAL.
I will as always show what i am planning the weekend before. So if you want to stay in tune, just know this is the plan for our room for the next weeks .
October 5-9: Fall Break – no school.
October 12-16: Fire Safety
October 19-23: FALL FESTIVAL
October 26-30: Halloween
So many things you can do in October. So have fun planning and tell me if you are sticking with me or doing your own.
