We had a couple of special guests come to our classroom today and we got to pet a couple of chickens. Hens. The kids had such a great time thanks to a good friend of mine who has them at her house.
Fun fact: if you live in tempe you can raise chickens but you can’t have a rooster.
So we began our day with petting the chickens for over 30 min.
Then we moved onto our lesson of farm for the day.

We went over our words for the week and we sang the most iconic song in the history of farm. And if you don’t know which one I am talking about, then you need to go back to preschool.
Old Macdonald is the best song for preschool fame lesson. That and the chicken dance. Lol.
After our lesson for the day we rotated to centers and then onto our art for the day.
As always my son loved doing a glue project for his day.
After art we moved onto math.

As I predicted, my kiddos are smart. We leaned that 0-9 are the primary numbers and then after that you can make bigger numbers using the primary. I asked them about 10 and why it isn’t there.
I then pointed out, if I wanted to make ten, which two numbers they could use, and my daughter pointed to 1&0. I was so period. And then we talked about the numbers 11-20.
Using number-blocks as always to show what each number is about, I skipped all the in between shows and just watch the numbers intro episodes.

It was a fun day. I am hoping to move on to more interesting facts with numbers 1-20 in the next couple of weeks. By Christmas break we should be moving on to 20-40 or more. But my kids will learn how to add and subtract by Christmas.
