APARTMENT& Small Spaces with Kids during the Second Lockdown: WINTER Edition.lol

Sometimes it may feel like this when I come home. Small apartment and not enough space for the thing I want to do with the kids.

I feel like the kids room is getting tighter and tighter , and the living space that I have turned into their classroom has taken away space for them to spread out.

It sometimes feels impossible to get anything done.

Course that’s not true. If you have a small space you can still do the things you want, just on a smaller scale or even find another space to conduct it.

Now I know a lot of you are being put back on lock down. I encourage you to make the most of your space.

Here are some small space games and things you can do with kids in your home during your quarantine.

1. The picture up top is my kids playing with their new favorite thing. It’s SlimeSand. A more interesting mix, and better than Kinetic Sand, in my opinion.

Costco has it right now in the Christmas Toys Section as a huge starter kit. A bunch of different colors and some toys. However get ready for it to change your kids hands a color. Lol

2. Hallway or Room Streamer obstacle Courses.

I challenge you to turn your entire apartment or condo ( small space) into one of these. Streamers can be used for more than this and parties. We just had a party at my in laws and lots of streamers were used for multiple things. The kids attached them to each other, made them into capes. Even one of them made another into a mummy using them. So streamers are cheap ( dollar tree) and you can do practically any cool idea with them.

3. Cup Stacking Castle

You might remember from our Jack and Jill Fairytale that we had to use cups to get as tall as we could to get to the giants house. Well here you go. Bring it back for another round.

Even build up towers in different spots and have a snowball fight in the house to bring them down. Use giant pom poms or ball pit balls of course.

4. Cardboard crafts

Cardboard is awesome. And I find you can be creative with it. You can make castles and caves, forts. However it’s the unconventional ideas that are the most brilliant. Like this picture, turning it into a nail salon. Trace hands and then give them paint to paint the nails.

Or if you recall the cardboard arcade idea.

Turn any cardboard box into a arcade game. Get creative.

Which brings me to my next one.

5. Basket Ski Ball

This uses cardboard too, but put your laundry baskets to good use and make them into something. Another game, or add it to the cardboard arcade. My kids love ski ball. So to do this in my apartment would be the world to them.

6. Mini Golf or Crocket

You don’t even need putters or mallets. You can just use their hands or feet to move their balls. All it takes is a little creativity and some tape with paper, and you got yourself a golf course.

7. Raceway.

I know every little boy and GIRL, has a toy car somewhere. You can even get them at the dollar tree. They aren’t that expensive.

Or if you choose not to buy cars, you can make them just as easy.

A paper towel roll, water bottle caps, and straws. You can even make these regardless if you have cars, to make it part of the game. It’s science. Make the car design to see if it will work.

Set up card board Ramps , pipes, etc, and let them roll down it to see who wins. Your own down bill derby.

Or…..

Make a car out of legos and attach a balloon to it and make it go. Lots of ideas people.

8. Paper Towel roll wall ball

Who needs to pay a thousand dollars for one already made when you can make it yourself. Just use paper towel rolls and paper and use Pom poms ( the craft balls) to send them down.

There are lots more ideas. Just google or Pinterest them. Inside activities to do with kids.

I’m waiting for the day when I can do they with my kids. It’s not for preschoolers, but it’s so much fun to watch. Kinetic King Stick bomb. love mentioned him before.

Anyways. I hope our country can get through this, fight this long enough to find a cure.
