Having a new puppy is always a challenge. Or any new animal. It’s another living thing you have to take care of.
As a child I grew up with always having animals in the house.
We’ve had 4 cats, two dogs, a 3 horned Chameleon. Course not at once.
And the animals we have had , have always had long lives.
Our Great Dane lived to be 13. Our bichon frise/poodle mix lived to be 18. Our first cat Pauli died at 12. Our last set of cats ( one of which was mine, Kona) lived to be 15 before I had to put him down for kidney failure. His sister, Haulie, 17. Lasted two years after.
Course she was the only pet my kids ever had. And she wasn’t that great with them cuz she was so old. So I’m recent years ( the last year ) my parents and us have been talking about getting animals back in the house again.
It kept going back and forth between cats and dogs. Then we got the positive test from my son, he was allergic to cats. So a puppy was it.

Our newest member of our family. My kids are in love with her and we’ve only had her for 3 days.
It’s come to everyone’s attention, that it’s more difficult raising a puppy , when the owners are in their 70’s, and the semi owners ( me, my husband, and the kids) can’t have her in their apt cuz it’s an apt and she needs a back yard .
So we are all going to pitch in to help raise this baby girl. She’s our baby.
Wish us luck.
