Kids Are Back At Home!!! Falling Behind? I think so.

A friend of mine sent this to me. I don’t agree with it. Personally I think it’s just an excuse from parents who aren’t even trying to help.

I know that when you send your kid off to school your putting your child’s life and education in the teachers and schools hands, and that’s what you should do, but this year, it has been a struggle for everyone.

The teachers need help, and that comes from the parents.

As a parent and with my eldest starting Kinder next year ( I hope in person learning) I just am chopping at the bit for things to get back to normal and want my kids to have a social life ( cuz that is important) and I want them to have a good education.

This year however just flew us all for a loop. We all hoped and prayed that it was going to work with in person learning. Just wasn’t meant to be.

It is halfway through the school year and if we want our children to NOT fall behind we need to help. Not to get through this year but to actually do this year.

And if they are behind we need to keep them during the summer to catch up.

Now that schools are closed again, and it’s back to digital learning we need to make sure our kids have everything they need and make sure they pay attention.

I hope parents are talking to each other and to their kids about their days. Review their lessons.

I don’t know. I maybe ranting, but when I think about my old students, and where they are now, I hope and pray they aren’t behind. That they are succeeding and making their mark in the world.

I don’t want any child to be left behind. That’s why they have the ACT. But in this case, it might need to be tossed out the window and everyone needs to rethink a new strategy.
