Okay 2021 here we come.

In January Preschoolers are immersed in learning all about WINTER. Winter objects, winter animals, and Winter weather, etc. When I had a ELC classroom I decorated my entire room in snowflakes made out of paper, fake snow in the sensory table, and my absolute favorite was the science experiments with ICE.

Now as far as the themes that the program are for January goes are thus….

  1. January 4-8= Snow and snowmen: Everything is about snow, Ice and vs water

2. January 11-15= Artic Animals: All the animals that live in the snow. Wolves, polar bears, etc.

3. January 18-22= Penguins: The theme speaks for itself. I will explain more in my actual dates now below.

4. January 25-29= Nursery Rhymes: Nursery Rhymes, thought not a Winter theme, it is usually part of the curriculum for Preschoolers. Very popular.

Okay so it is now OFFICALLY WINTER. December 22. So its time to bring on the Winter themes. Now as I sit here thinking about it. I plan on changing a few things around. I still plan to use the lesson plans themselves and the pintable’s, but just switching it around.

So lets go with it.

January 4 =Snow & Snowmen: I am keeping this the same, cuz the kids are going to be able to play in the snow this week. We are going up north for a day to play in the snow. If you aren’t able to do this kind of thing, than you can see if your local shaved ice place will let you buy their snow pile for however much they sell it for. Some places do this for kids at school. The schools i worked with always did this for their preschoolers and sometimes for the entire school. I am excited for this theme, cuz there are so many things you get to do during the theme of snow.

January 11= Animals that Live in the Snow: ( so basically artic animals, but not) I think the Artic animals should be with the Penguins. So with this week, we will study the animals that have ADAPTED to the snow. such as; Deer, Buffalo, Bears ( the ones that done Hybernate) and foxes, etc.

January 18= Artic Animals = I am not just going to use Penguins with this theme. I am going to add Polar Bears, Walrus’s, etc. This theme will be fun. Going from animals we can see in our own back yard even in the winter to the animals we can’t see unless we go to the aquarium or even SEA WORLD. lol.

January 25: Nursery Rhymes = Like I said Nursery Rhymes are popular at this time of year. My kids love watching them on Netflix and on YouTube. Plus listening to them and reading them. This will be fun.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE. THIS WILL BE MY LAST BLOG UNTIL THIS WEEKEND.
