So if your toddler is like mine, and gets board easily with doing the same thing over and over again, then it’s time to change it up.
In a previous number of blogs I mentioned that my son learned his letters at an early 2 years old. Very smart, but he has since forgotten a lot of his letters cuz he is bored with the same thing I have been doing.
For example : I put on Letter Factory ( the leapfrog program that is free on Netflix) and I put out his letter cards on the table to find them.
For about the first 10 times doing this he would last, but his attention shortened as the times after that.
So today I wanted to try something new.
I put on the movie and instead of just handing the card to me, I had him take it to the blackboard hand put them in order.
He loved it and lasted the whole time. And I rewarded him with watching his favorite show after.
Note; the letter cards we have are magnetic. I bought them on Amazon. Not cheap but worth it. More than the actual magnet letters that you buy cheaply or at lakeshore. Letters that can get lost easily if your not careful.

They have a whole line of things and they are long lasting.
Plus I highly suggest, as I have said in the past, to get a chalkboard or whiteboard that is magnetic. Using your refrigerator is a bad idea for alphabet blocks.
Next time I do this activity with my son I will change it up again.
1. No movie: and I give him the sound and he gives it to me
2. No movie: and I say the name of the letter and he gives it to me.
3. Options 1 and 2 and he says the reverse of what I want. Such as: Will find the letter H and he finds it and says “Hu.” Or the reverse
So just keep on top of your little learners. Don’t expect to much from them, and have fun with it.
