Wildlife Rescue & Non Profit Phoenix | Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary
This program has done a number of on site field trips for the school district that i worked for. It was so mind opening the amount of animals they have on site. They rescue a number of reptiles from the wild, because a someone buys a pet from the pet store, and instead of taking it back, they let it loose somewhere where they are not integrated. It effects the population and it can injure the environment.
This picture is of me holding a very large I believe Corn Snake. This has been the biggest snake I have ever held in my life.
They even have an alligator they can bring to show.
Now here is the saddest story I have heard.
Okay I know most of you go to your local Zoo’s. The truth is the Turtles inside the pond areas ( mostly our Arizona Phoenix Zoo) those turtles in the water are turtles that were left there after a person bought them and couldn’t take care of them. They breed fast, so the Herp Society has to go into the zoo and collect a certain amount of them to take back to their facility.
Its sad right.,
Now They have lots of animals to adopt. Please if you have the space and the love of reptiles, please make contact and adopt them from this place and not pay for them in a pet store.
