Well hello Sunday. Monday is once again coming tomorrow and it brings with it Dental Health Unit.
For as long as I can remember, Dental Health in schools is pretty big this month. The local one, where I taught and where my kids are going to next year, has a fundraiser every February to help out the families of the District who are apart of the Funding Program. I am pretty sure a lot of districts do this. Families who are within the Funding Program are the families who are homeless, single income, grandparents who are raising their grandkids, foster families, etc.
When it comes to dental hygiene, it is very important for your preschooler to learn why. So this week we are going to explain why.
For pretend play the obvious theme is Dentist Office:
Another cute idea is add a lounge chair to set up your own dentist chair.
For Gross Motor: The obvious. TEACHING THEM TO BRUSH THEIR TEETH PROPERLY.
As far as this model goes, we don’t have one. And I don’t expect I will find one to buy, and I wouldn’t buy it anyways. So it will be just easier, if I get Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, and floss for the kiddos to do one their own.
The travel section in both Walmart and Target sell very cool travel kits for kids.
I will find one of these for each of the kiddos. Well open it and talk about their teeth.
The videos I plan on showing them this week, are helpful videos to give them the idea of brushing.

There are books about teeth.
There are even toys about brushing your teeth. Play Dough:
Now since not everyone can afford to go out and buy the play dough kit. You can make your own.
Or you can use it as your craft and use marshmallows.
From here you can have them practice how to floss and brush their teeths before actually going in the bathroom to do it.
My daughter loves brushing her teeth.
Another part of the lesson is to make sure you explain to them what kinds of foods are good for their teeth, what isnt. That cavities grow when you eat too much of sugar items.
As far as the math lessons go for my kiddos, we are moving forward with more Measurement math.
We will be moving onto MORE & HEAVY VS. LESS & LIGHT
So we will be using the Disney Carson Dellosa Work Book at this time to use for this measuring theme..
This work book is completely awesome. I highly recommend it.
