This is going to be a great theme this week. I am sorry I am so late. I have been extremely busy this weekend. But let’s begin.
Bees and flowers, it’s a lesson every little boy and girl need to learn cuz Pollenization is very important. Kids learn how bees are good for the earth. How because of them, we have flowers and honey.
A great movie : just FYI, is The Bee Movie. It’s a great movie to watch with the kiddos. If you have never watched it before, it’s with Jerry Seinfeld voice for the Bee who is having issues with humans hoarding honey, and try’s to stop it. In the process pollen doesn’t happen in the entire New York City Central park doesn’t bloom flowers anymore. So it’s important that the kids understand that.
National Geographic has a great episode of bee keepers for kids .
Plus they have a reading book you can get.
For pretend play I am going to set up a honey stand or the kids can play bee keeper.
You could put out a flower shop, but after just having the flower shop out with Valentine’s Day, it’s time for a change.
The printable are awesome.
We’ll learn the parts of a bee and what they do for flowers. To help them with that, I will set up a craft for them and a fine and gross motor game.
Have them pollinate the honeycombs.
For the actual crafts we are going to do a painted cotton ball bee, and bubble wrap stamps .
