Parents who DON’T keep their kids home when they are sick! What will they do now during covid?

This has always been an issue. Every since public school was invented. For me when I was a teacher, I hated when a parent lied and sent their kid to school sick ( just cuz their work wouldn’t let them take the day off, yet they couldn’t find sensible babysitter ) and they got the whole class sick.

It always gave me a migraine. I understand you can’t take off work and your a single parent, but there has to be a better alternative. Especially now.

I saw in the news a kid going to school when it opened and they had covid and risked the whole class. I can’t seem to find that article but let me just say this.

I know we are all feeling cabin fever, but REALLY HOW STUPID ARE YOU. You sent your kid to school knowing they “ WERE SICK” and you risked the entire class. Whether or not this happened is irrelevant.

Here is the question right now that I want answers. How dumb/desperate/selfish are some parents to send their kid into a building with other kids ( not knowing what everyone has, and knowing your kid isn’t feeling well) to send them into a hot zone. I know some kids are that asymptomatic but come on. If there ever was a slittiest chance my kid showed any kind of difference ( cuz kids act different when they are sick even without actual symptoms) cuz that is technically a symptom in itself, you send them to school.

Like I said it was a problem even when I was a teacher in after school and kids cake from school sick, it’s like, that’s the biggest rule. They have a fever, you have to go home.

Course I once had a kid who had a fever and I had to keep them separate from the other kids in their own area lying down the whole time for 2 hours until their parent finally came.

I understand it can be hard. Don’t get me wrong, for some parents you have to, but in this time, in this covid crisis; think with your head and jog with your impatient self to get them out of the house. It can wait. Let them get better. Let them be safe. This is your kids life on the line and all the others.

Just do what’s right and not selfish. If they are healthy, I have no qualms about sending kids to school, it’s what they need, but when they are sick. Keep them home. Duh!!!!!!!
